Lot Location:
Artemisia ludoviciana
White sagebrush or prairie sage is a beautiful tough native perennial. It works well adding an accent of silvery foliage to rock gardens, average to dry meadow plantings, and more. It spreads by aggressive rhizomes. Perfect for areas that need to be colonized quickly. It can easily be propagated by dividing.
It is a host plant for the American Lady and Painted Lady butterflies. Its small yellow flowers are wind pollinated so you won't likely see other pollinators around it. Although its beautiful silvery foliage make it very desirable, due to the aggressive nature of its rhizomes, plant with care in small wildflower plantings.
