Also known as Large-leaved White Violet, the Sweet White Violet is a common native found in northeast and central parts of Minnesota, extending down into the southeastern parts of the state as well, Sweet White Violet is a shade-faring member of the Viola genus, thriving in part shade to full shade and can tolerate full sun, provided there's moisture.
It's identified by its small hairless to sparsely hairy stems and leaves, which feature shallow toothed edges, their tendency to form colonies, and their white flowers, which feature purple veins on lower petal, and short to no bearded hairs on their spur petals.
