Filipendula ulmaria
Commonly called meadowsweet or queen-of-the-meadow, is a large, clump-forming, upright perennial that typically grows 3-4' (less frequently to 6') tall and features branched, terminal, astilbe-like panicles (4-6") of fragrant, creamy white flowers in early to mid summer.
Queen of the meadow is native to Europe and in those areas, highly prized for pollinators.
Interesting note: The plant has been traditionally used to make different dyes. Roots for black dye, leaves for blue dye, and yellow from the top of the plant.
