A native found in eastern Minnesota, Marsh Blue Violet is a resilient member of the Viola genus, thriving in full sun to full shade, provided the ground is moist, but it can also take wet soils readily as well.
It's a stemless violet, meaning it won't produce leaves from their stems, rather they will produce basal leaves from their root crown. It can be identified from all other stemless blue violets by the fact it features stubby, club-shaped hairs on the beards of their flowers.
