This native ground cover has lovely white and lavender blossoms that give way to plum-looking seed pods. The foliage is a silver hue and quite pretty. It does best in well-drained soils, often the gravely soils that few other plants enjoy. Bees and other pollinators love its blooms. Great for rock gardens. It is a host plant for the Clouded Sulphur butterfly (a pale yellow butterfly with a unique black spot). Most common in the west and south part of Minnesota.
Ground plum is also a nitrogen fixer which means it will improve soil health with time.
